Emily Jane Browning was born in Melbourne, Australia on December 7, 1988. She had an early start into acting thanks to one of her classmate’s parents who saw her acting talents in a school play and helped her get her first acting roles.
Browning’s first acting role was in the Hallmark TV film “The Echo of Thunder” where she played a supporting role of Opal with her lovely smile and shoulder-length brunette half-up hairstyle. Her performance in the movie brought on more TV roles like “Something in the Air” and “Blue Heelers”. These TV roles ultimately led to her big-screen Hollywood debut.
Her first Hollywood film was “Ghost Ship” where she played a supporting role but she was still able to display her acting chops and her long straight brunette hair that was in a slick half-up hairstyle. This led to her lead role in “Lemony Snicket’s a Series of Unfortunate Events” with her long brunette hairstyle with blunt bangs that she often puts up into a ponytail when she gets serious.
This movie catapulted her career into overdrive and she soon made a string of big films like “Sucker Punch” with her long platinum blonde hairstyle, “Sleeping Beauty” with her long and wavy brunette hairstyle, and “Legend” with her brunette hairstyle often in vintage hairdos.
Of all her different roles and different hairstyles, there was one that was quite memorable for her, but not in a positive way. In an interview with Teen Vogue, Browning said, “It was kind of like a funny little social experiment. People make all of these assumptions about your personality. And I definitely attracted more creeps.” This was her response to the long platinum blonde hairstyle she sported for the movie Sucker Punch.
